WHAT IS COAL?
Coal is a readily combustible black or brownish-black sedimentary rock normally occurring in rock strata in layers or veins called coal beds. We have been coal merchants since 1936 and supply house coal for open fires and smokeless fuels for roomheaters, stoves, gravity feed boilers etc. We can supply the coal in open sacks or pre-packed in 25kg plastic bags. We also wholesale pre-packed coal to shops and filling stations who sell to the public.

Our specialist delivery area is Ayrshire where the majority of our customers are based. We also cover parts of Lanarkshire in the Strathaven area and parts of Renfrewshire in the Eaglesham, East Kilbride, Newton Mearns, Neilston and Barrhead areas.

The company was founded in 1936 by Andrew Gray as a coal
merchant supplying domestic fuels and coal to housholders and also industrial
fuels to hospitals, libraries.
The Future
Family Foundations
The company has remained in the family since being founded and looks to do so after the introduction of Taylor Gray in 2006.
Taylor is the fourth generation of the Gray family to be involved in the business.
We supply BP Bottled gas to clients around Ayrshire and beyond.
