Mauchline (pronounced IPA: Mhacha Linn in Gaelic, meaning 'the pool of Macha Rua') is a town in East Ayrshire, Scotland. In the 2001 census it had a recorded population of 4105. It lies by the Glasgow and South Western Railway line, 8 miles (13 km) east-southeast of Kilmarnock and 11 miles (18 km) northeast of Ayr. It is situated on a gentle slope about 1 mile (2 km) from the River Ayr, which flows through the south of the parish of Mauchline. In former days Loch Brown was about 1 mile west of the town, but was drained when the railway line from Kilmarnock was built.

Heating Oil
Saturday Delivery
Heating oil used in domestic boilers is usually Kerosene, a light paraffin based oil. Larger homes and hotels etc sometimes use gas oil, a diesel based oil.
Gas Oil
Saturday Delivery
Gas Oil (red diesel) is used by plant hire companies, building site contractors for diggers, dump trucks and fork etc. It can also be used to power generators and pumps etc. Gas oil is also burned in larger heating systems and for steam raising etc.
Kerosene

Kerosene is mainly used for domestic home heating boilers. It is also used for AGA cookers and factory space heaters.
